Pismo Beach Weather

One of the main reasons that people come to Pismo Beach is for the near perfect climate. With an average temperature of 72 degrees, and an elevation of 56 feet, the seaside town is a haven in the summer, from June to September, especially for San Joaquin Valley residents, and a respite from colder temps in other places in the winter. In fact, fall and winter are great times to come and stay in Pismo after all the summer travelers have packed their sandy flip flops and headed for home. The pace is slower then and the weather is usually still sunny with calm, cool breezes. (Water temperatures range between 51 and 58 degrees, so wetsuits are advised for swimming.)

With summer temperatures hovering in the ‘70‘s, the nights drop 20 degrees, perfect for warming up in a hot tub. The winter high is 65 degrees and falls to a low of 43 at night. Even if there is brief rainfall, brilliant sunshine usually breaks through the clouds and the occasional fog. The fall, September to November, is especially enjoyable in Pismo. The summer’s early morning fog is gone, the sun shines and the days are still warm. Pismo experiences 282 sunny days each year. Fresh, clean air, mild evenings and mostly sunny days make Pismo a great place to be any time of year.
